I.       FAMILIES

Sycamore Canyon School is committed to providing an environment that accepts the needs, benefits and realities of the Middle School student.  Families is a way of creating a caring and supportive  community that stays with a child throughout their stay at Sycamore Canyon School.   A Family is 18-22 students in grades K-8 and a staff member who meet together bimonthly to develop relationships and provide support to both the group and the greater SCS community. By establishing these stable groups within the SCS environment, we hope to provide one more place where a child can belong in a setting where he/she experiences love, commitment and caring from people who model appropriate social skills within our framework of character education that serves to benefit the common good.

II.   MUSICAL ARTS GUILD

Sycamore Canyon School has some very talented kids!  M.A.G. is an after school opportunity for the Middle School students to express themselves through music, voice, visuals, dance and performance.  A guild by definition is an association formed for the mutual aid and benefit of its members.  Through the M.A.G. program, the secondary students work together, share their expertise and create, which results in performances that showcase their talents.  M.A.G. brings students through every part of the production from the making of the props, designing the sets, writing scripts, directing, choreographing and ultimately performing.  M.A.G. belongs to its members!
