SCHOOL CURRICULUM PROGRAM OF STUDIES
Middle School students will be enrolled in a minimum of six classes. In addition to academic classes, students will participate in elective courses. Electives are designed to give students the opportunity to explore areas such as technology, visual and performing arts, career and vocational education and other special interest areas. 6th-8th Grades Program of Studies English Math Integrated Science Social Studies Physical Education Elective The sixth grade is organized to promote a connectedness between students and their teachers. The teachers “team” to provide core classes of English/Social Science and Math/Science. In seventh and eight grades students are placed according to how much they have achieved in each subject area. 7/8CP courses are designed to strengthen subject skills to prepare students for college preparatory (CP) classes or Standard (S) courses in high school. 7/8H courses are for Honors (H) students who have been recognized for exceptionally high achievement (test scores and grades). These courses offer in-depth coverage while providing an added challenge. |
